We will assess several factors in the migration of your database. We take migrations as several stages:
Migration preparedness stage - we assess the current environment, see where the current challenges are with the legacy database, create the business case for migration, and do capacity planning for the new SQL Server database
Migration stage - analyze existing schemas and design the SQL Server database to provide same application functionality, build all the new objects that are required in SQL Server, migrate the data, verify that the database schema and data migrated properly
ETL stage - The extract, transform and load will be designed with detail packages to gather the data from the legacy platform and ship it to SQL Server. In the ETL stage we can also do data cleansing and validate the data with the consumption applications.
Application correctness stage - Perform integration testing with the suite of legacy applications to make sure that the migrated data is accessible, proper, and consistent.
